The Nerve Center of the PNP
The PNP NATIONAL OPERATIONS CENTER (NOC) is the command and control facility of the Philippine National Police of all events affecting peace and order and public safety in the country. It serves as the main coordinating center for all police regions/officies and national operational and administrative support units in pursuance of their law enforcement, internal security, public safety and records/statistics-compilation functions.
In furtherance of its mandate, the PNP National Operations Center is also in-charge in monitoring of the drive against illegal Firearms. NOC monitors the total surrendered, confiscated and/or recovered firearms in the country. The proliferation of loose firearms has admittedly become a critical concern to the country's peace and security. Statistics show that majority of crime incidents involving firearms were committed through the use of loose and/or unregistered firearms. The PNP, in coordination and cooperation with the AFP, other law enforcement agencies and other government agencies will conduct an aggressive campaign to control the proliferation of loose firearms in the possession of criminal elements and other threat groups including private armies.
